Strategic Leadership Communications Training for Leaders in IT or highly technical fields
Who Should Attend Information Technology Leaders or those that work in highly technical fields who are: - Looking to sharpen their leadership and communication skills to progress their career - Interested in having greater impact and influence with business stakeholders, Group executives/Leadership teams, Board (where applicable) and employees through their communications - Keen to practice and learn in a safe environment
Learning Outcomes - An ability to identify the key messages for executives - An ability to quickly develop a strong executive presence - A refining of existing communications styles to effectively present with impact; in all forums from Executive and Board meetings to Employee Town Halls (as required) - The confidence to engage, communicate effectively and influence in particular with peers outside of IT and those at more senior levels.
A Bespoke Approach Executive presence involves first impressions, clear articulation of key messages tailored to the audience and fully engaging the audience. Executives who get this right are known for ‘owning the room’. At C-suite levels, it is often tested in situations that require the delivery of news that the audience does not want to hear. To develop executive presence, executives need to be aware of their current style to leverage their strengths and identify aspects for improvement.
Acknowledging that each executive will have a different communications style, Board Impact tailors specifically to an individual executive’s needs to enhance their own personal style. Our programs involve one-on-one experiential learning with the facilitator taking the role of a coach, rather than an instructor.
Uniquely for executive presence, we use video as a tool, so the executive can draw their own conclusions and see the difference from trying various modifications to their current style. The purpose of the training is, through observation and experiences, to improve the effectiveness of an executive’s communications.
To maximize results, Board Impact proposes an initial intensive program followed by a number of interventions to break entrenched habits and embed changes over the long term based on a participant's needs.
Program Overview The initial intensive program involves 3 x 1:1 60-minute sessions, broadly covering: - Discovery - Refining and - Exploring Different Forums and adapting styles - This session can be used for large scale employee forums as required.
